Marrakech Menara Airport is a 15 minute taxi drive, normal cost 60 - 80
Dirham. At busy times of day, especially evenings, taxis will not be able or
willing to drive up to the house due to the number of pedestrians and the
narrowness of the streets, but can get to within 5 minutes walk where there
will be porters to help with luggage. Jamal is able to meet flights or trains.
The house is in the middle of the old quarter (Medina) : 7 minutes walk
from the main square, 3 minutes walk to the back part of the main Souk. It is
situated at the end of a small street in quite a busy area, but once inside the
house the rest of the town seems as if it's miles away. It's very peaceful and
calm, and even from the terrace, one is aware of the noise of the city
as if from a distance.
There are a number of mosques in the area, and guests should be aware of the
early morning call to prayer at between 4 & 5 am, which may be disturbing
at first, but one quickly becomes used to it.
